Shreya Ghoshal live in Mumbai

The Shreya Ghoshal live in Concert, MUMBAI.
19.11.2016. Shanmukhanda Hall, Sion.

Unlike last time, this year I was running late for my show; thanks to the traffic..every passing minute added anxiety.. I was desperately looking out of the taxi if we reached the venue.

Finally, the taxi driver stopped at the corner of a turn and refused to move ahead as the lane was fully blocked. It was then we realised that the venue was at the end of this lane and this traffic was for the show itself! We got down and happily walked towards the venue.. I couldn't contain my happiness as I knew the wait was over. I never expected to meet Shreya; of course you hope for a miracle..but somehow I knew I wouldn't meet her. All I hoped was for a seat without "Human Camels" blocking my view!!

After collecting the concert tickets and necessary security check, we went in to occupy our respective seats. And yes, it was closer than last time plus a closed hall! What more could I have asked for! However, there were a few human camels ahead; however I could see the stage clearly..so primary requirement satisfied!

Time for the concert to start..I knew there would be trailer round of Shreya's male co-artist. I expected Hrishikesh Ranade to enter; however, a new singer , Jaydeep entered. A few pleasant songs by him set up the mood for the concert; while it was time now for the Queen herself to enter!!

My expectation: Deewani Mastani.
Shreya likes to surprise us, so she had her favourite tune for us as the beginner...
Mohe Rang Do laal...ufff..the peacocks meow background and then the humming of Shreya!! Wattey a beautiful moment it was! I was recording it, however that blocked the view of the lady behind me; she requested me to stop recording and put down the mobile..I obliged,,, it's not fair on my part to not let her have her share of Shreya! So recordings stopped there.. though i felt sad that I wouldn't be able to share it with my companions. :(

Mohe Rang do laal..what do I possibly tell you how wonderfully, effortlessly Shreya carried us to heaven..the moment she said, "Dekhu dekhu tujhko main hoke nihaar..." Yes! That was my state of mind! I was staring at her without a blink of eye..how blissful can someone look and sing!!

Following the first one, was the royalé Deewani mastani... highlight of this song is the way Shreya sings, "Kehte Hain ye deewani...." The kind of modulations she displays is so amazing that you wonder if your still at the hall or heaven!! While singing "deewani Haan deewani.." she does try DPs step too!! :D

Up next were her own beauties, "Agar Tum mil jao" and "Jadoo hai Nasha hai" . Both these songs were sung in altogether new avatars!! Yes! These are indeed gems which become even more precious when Shreya sings them now! No wonder, I have been her fan since the beginning of her career!

SG: its an honour to perform on such a prestigious stage.Shanmukhanda mein it's always a silent one..I hope we will break the trend..break the silence, sing , dance and whistle all along...

My expectation: SG will continue a few more of her own recipes.
SG: I get so engrossed singing my own songs that I forget to sing other beautiful melodies! So here's my little tribute to the Maestro of Music: AR Rahman sir!!

Omg! Couldn't have asked for more!
The way she sang each and every song of ARR , I really wish someday ARR and SG come together to recreate these beauties as an exclusive album!! Ishq bina and Roja were spellbinders! Chitra Chechi will be so proud of SG for singing it in such an astounding manner!

Up next was Jiya jale and Malayalam part of MG Sreekumar is sung by SG!!! What even are you Shreya?? How so perfect! We happily danced on our respective seats.. Following them were kaise mujhe and tu hi mera dost(male part).. Uffff!!!

Then Shreya sang our mind> Kab tak hosh sambhale koiii...hosh udde toh udd jaane do... saans !!!

Shreya: now I will sing a happy song! A happy song from Happy new year! Yes indeed it was "manwa laage".. this song is ethereal when Shreya sings it LIVE!

SG: Har kisika scene hota hai love life mein. If I can make you cry in this one..it will be my achievement! And lo! She sang  "samjhawan".. only one word! WOW!!!
Following them were shukran Allah, tere mast mast do nain, piya o piya, saibo!
Saibo stands tall! Her variations every time is so heart melting; so surreal!

SG: ok, each of can do this step. That too sitting on your seats. (And does the "Pinga" step) OMG! She's soo cute! Can't stop staring!
Singing "Pinga" at one go without support is a slap for people who depend on auto-tune and pitch correcting technologies!! Yes! Only Shreya can do that! She's loved by all for a reason!

SG: I've sung many Marathi songs. I would love to sing my latest number from movie, Sairat. Rinku is gaon ki ladki...sorry sorry..Archie..Rinku is her real name...so Archie is a gaon ki ladki,, but she is not Sharmili..she is bold..she rides a bullet....and then SG started..."aatchya baya ka bavarla.." we happily yelled, clapped..died!

A few more dance numbers followed like Barso re, yeh Ishq hai, Nagada sang dhol..by this time Shreya the melody queen has turned out into a rock star..her energy while singing these are altogether something out of this world! It was time for ten minutes break.
(Shreya drank only one ounce of water until now, which means she was singing non-stop and dancing all the way) (In between, she does her signature whistle and guitar steps)

After the quickie break, a tribute section awaited us , whereby the legends of yesteryears were remembered! Following songs kept our hearts leaping; "Chaudavin ka chand, ye sham, Kabhi kabhi, aap ki nazaroon, ab toh hai tumse, kya jaanu sanam, aaa jaane jaa, piya tu, dum maaro dum.."
All these while, we kept singing with her, danced on seats, whistled, clapped our hearts out!!
For me, "Kya jaanu Sanam" stands out...I really wish that someday Shreya uploads a unplugged version of it on her YouTube channel!

Following were now, "zoobi doobi, oh la la,Radha on the dance floor.." Such a celebration, festive mode it was!!
After this, people kept requesting for songs..one of them which reached SG was "thode badmash".
SG : Saawariya ka kaun sa gaana...kaun kaun se gaane gina diya..and then an impromptu, unplugged version of thode badmash bowled over my mind!!

As SG started "Teri meri" , a fan boy went up the stage to sing it with her! Each of us were happy for him..a moment that every fan craves for.. Shreya is angelic..she makes everyone feel so special..so loved..I must say, Thank you Shreya!

SG: I have done an independent album few days back and I would love to sing that one for you.

It was time for me take a call. I got up from my seat, went near a pillar and started recording this beauty :):) happy heart!
Like she had given hint on her selfie on Instagram, indeed, she sang the beautiful, "Singaar ko Rehne do".. it is for such wow moments I feel every fan of Shreya must get atleast one chance of attending her live concert!

Following it was "tujhme rab dikhta hai" this is one song I feel SG improvises I think every time she sings it! One of my favorite song of SG- live or otherwise!

9 year old,Lil Khushi: didi, ye gaana(with a small chit)
SG: Haan beta..
Another 8 yr old kid: Didi, ye bhi...
SG: Haan dedo..acha how many children have come here?
Audience: everyone raises hands!
SG: Bade bachhe nahi! Actual chote bache! (Giggles)
Me: Dead.
In the meanwhile, a 80yr old uncle next to me, "Shreyaa...Tere bin...."
SG: jus for Khushi...
Ab rasta mil gaya Khushi ka...Teri ore....

The next request by the other kid was the evergreen, forever Lovable  "lag Jaa gale".. she delivers it with utmost Beauty, maintaining the mood of the song!

Khushi comes up with another request and SG does budge in for a impromptu one line of "drama queen"
In between, someone requests for "Chikni Chameli" however, she tactfully refuses to sing it while maintaining the sanctity of Shanmukhanda Hall!

Up next was her own, "Sunn raha hai na"..this one completely overpowers the leftover brain in my head!!
Then "raabta" does the rest! This again is such smoothie recipe for Shreya live! A must hear in every concert!!
Unexpectedly, she sings "chori Kiya" and I am so overwhelmed that she does hear the unheard..coz this is definitely one of my favorite song!!

The climax. Time for recording!
Yes it is indeed, " Ami je tomar..mere dholna.." as usual the Sargam takes over, your heart keeps leaping..eyes are teary.. speechless! As usual, each person gives the melody queen a standing ovation for her unbounded, unparalleled talent and beauty!!!

Her band is really awesome.. each of them supremely talented and complimenting her singin.

The end of the concert is really heart aching.. withdrawal symptoms for next few days..!.
Don't wait. Just book your tickets for next Shreya Ghoshal live in concert at yout

6th Shreya Ghoshal Day 26th June 2016

Wow.. it's been six years since it was declared as "Shreya Ghoshal Day" at Ohio. Wattey proud moment for every Indian! For the real pride of India, it's a day her fans celebrate across the world! On this occasion of 6th "Shreya Ghoshal Day" , I've chosen my top six songs sung by the Mistress of Music, Shreya Ghoshal:-

1. Bairi Piya:
Undoubtedly this first national award bringing song is the best song sung by Shreya. The innocence of her voice, the cutest ever expressions... it's a treat to hear this song day in and day out! So many awards and accolades to this song which was sung at one go by Shreya! It paved her path in to the music industry!

2. Kaathirunnu (Malayalam):
This malayalam song has been a favorite amongst the Shreya fans, irrespective of their first language! The pain and depth of the lyrics is brought out by Shreya 's effervescent voice and impeccable pronunciations. A real must hear song of melody queen Shreya Ghoshal.

3. Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai:
This song was the most unexpected dish Shreya served her fans. Her voice, the texture and the expressions probably this one could have been sung only by her! This was a favorite then; this song is favorite now too..will ever be! Performance par excellence!

4. Nuuve Naa Shwasa (Telugu):
One of the most beautiful melody I've ever heard is this Telugu song. It approaches you slowly and with time captures your senses to an extent where this forms a part of your "mostly played"  playlist.

5. Munbe Vaa ( Tamil):
A blockbuster song composed by maestro A.R. Rehman. This has been a all time favorite for the Dravidians. This song also happens to be Rehman Sirs favorite romantic song. And why not! It has been carved so well that you will never find a way out without loving it! This song helped Shreya establish herself in the south fanbase.

6. Pherari Mon (Bengali)
A Bengali movie song which brought Shreya her national award, a song which is full of soothing qualities. You hear it for the first time. And then you forget how many times you've heard because this song becomes a habit for a Shreya die hard fan! Irreplaceable, immense, lovable!

Please note the order is not the order of preference because each of them are equally unbeatable. Moreover, it's never easy to select only six songs 😃

Review of Hindi Movie- Waiting

In another spell bounding performance Naseerundin Shah weaves a perfect story with some effervescent acting and bang on dialogue delivery. Accompanying him is Kalki Koechlin, who should be credited for her style of breaking stereotypical characters! There is some brilliant direction by director Anu Menon which will grab your attention. The dialogue between Shah and Kalki explains the massive difference of usage of words by the "Old" and "New" generation! Both keep you engaged throughout the movie with masterful acting. The plot though simple and usual is so unusually presented and hence you smell the fragrance of newness and surprise. A totally unexpected journey which will bring tears in your eyes..be it happy or sad dews!

Rotating around the hospital lives of spouses of critically ill patients, the story makes you realize the cruelty and rudeness people have to undergo, blame it to mishaps of life! Due credits to script writer for syncing the dialogue with the story , holding it tight not letting you to feel uninterested! A few dialogues in Malayalam since the story rotates around a hospital in Kochi adds a tinge to screen. My lesson from the movie - No one prioritizes you the way you do it for yourself! Whatever problems turn out in your life, you got to face it with courage and acceptance!

All in all a movie for the crowd who believes in acting skills and storyline; who do not believe in the "make-believe" , "larger than life"  Bollywood movies!
Go and grab your tickets for "Waiting" deserves clap for their efforts!

How to get what you want?

10 steps to get what you want!!

So how do we actually get what we want...
It's been in my mind for while as to how do we actually achieve "that goal" that we have been craving for so long.

My observation says it's quite simple though we always tend to complicate things around us. Follow few of these steps:

1. Pinpoint your goal with full clarity. Be sure of what you actually want. You can't aim at the blank sky neither can you shoot in dark. So more than anything else you yourself should know what you want. Do all your research... All your ground and field work analysis... Just don't let any other unnecessary thought occupy the precious place of your mind.

2. Now that you have decided what you want, never ever think of any other option. Let this one thing be your life. Keep reminding yourself everyday about this goal of yours. Simplest exercise> look at the mirror at yourself. Tell your dream aloud looking deep and stern into your own eyes. Advantage>  It's generally difficult to lie to our own selves. So you know that there is one person who wants you to reach your goal - You yourself!

3. Break your main goal into bits of smaller goals now. You have to make action plans for them too. Achieving smaller goals while boost your morale; at the same time you ensure that your heading towards your goal slowly and steadily!

4. Plan your action for achieving your goal. Prepare a checklist, to-do list, requirements,...a time table in short. To achieve something it's most important that you plan each and every activity in detail..minutely finding out and critically examining your own plan.. You could alternatively take help of a close confidant who could analyze the feasibility of your schedule.

5. Dream of achieving it. You need to convince yourself that nothing is impossible. If you believe, rest will follow suit. Is it not true that someone's dream of flying got us the invention of airplane! Keep your vote of thanks and success speech ready. A self motivated and forward looking proactive individual can really make mountains move.

6. It's time to get into actual play. Act as per plan. There can be innumerable hurdles in your way. Your strategy> No lagging to be carried forward for more than three days. This way you will always be on time; as per your schedule.

7. If you think you were a little too harsh on yourself, this is the time to reset your schedule. Make a zero budget analysis ( Check as per schedule where you were supposed to reach and where you actually are.) Such a variance analysis is so important because we all are smart to design a schedule.. However seldom do we stick to it!!

8. Check if the progress is satisfactory. If yes, then you were wise with choosing your goal. If no, find out what is that extra effort you need to put. Indulge a small chat with someone who believes in you, someone who would help you in sorting any uncontrollable events in your life which is preventing you from striving towards your goal.

9. Love your goal, your dream. Love can work wonders. It will make all the pain your undergoing worth it! Be proud that you had courage to dream and work towards achieving. In such a case actual achieving will look like a tiny pebble..just as easy as picking it up with two fingers.

10. Be grateful to all the people who helped you directly or indirectly in achieving your goal. Smile over your achievement. Be proud that you had courage to dream and achieve it!

Wise men say if you follow a particular action continuously for fifteen days without break , it becomes a habit! Let working towards your goal become your habit.

Hope this helps you. Hope you dream big..and achieve it...if you think out of the box no one would ever think of enslaving you in their opinion.
Dream. Plan. Act. Achieve. Live it.

#WednesdayWisdom My life.. My decisions.!

Be your own decision-makers!

Every time you were in a jinx..
Every time you were in second thoughts..
Every time you dint ask for a "Free advice"..
Every time you received an "unasked lecture"..
Every time somebody pushed you unnecessarily..
Every time somebody pasted their views on you..
Every time somebody's opinion cut your thoughts..
Every time you depended on "Their decisions"..
Every time you felt pressurized..
For all the "Emotional aatyachaars" you have suffered all this while..

*Two minutes silence*

Its now time to...
Get up. Speak up. Think for yourself. Do it for yourself. Decide for yourself. Be your own masters. Let not the bondage and slavery of society and others decision enslave you. Be that 'Thinking Animal...The Homo Sapien!'

Face-off of the year:-Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the "Pinga" style of face-off was rewarded to the audience this year by Shreya (alongwith Vaishali Made) ; a much awaited-for face-off after the historic "Dhola Re"! How does it feel to experience #ShreyaGhoshal live in concert!

The one question which lingers in the minds of people who are yet to experience magic of Shreya Ghoshalish Tunes live is "How does it feel to experience Shreya live in concert?"

I can try to present the "Reel-view":-
29 November,2015. Mumbai.
The first ever public solo concert of Shreya Ghoshal was organised by SA Creations at Vile-parle, Mumbai at 6.30pm on 29 November, 2015! I was fortunate that my first ever experience of a musical concert happened to be that of India's singing sensation, Shreya Ghoshal!
Like any other disciplined fan, I (alongwith my family) ,reached the venue one hour before time; hoping for a quickie selfie or autograph or may be just a glimpse of the Melody queen in person! However, Shreya was seen nowhere ; so we waited patiently till the time of the concert, outside the venue. After a quick security check, we seated ourselves at our booked seat numbers (15-20th odd line). Though, a little far; still visible enough!
The concert started off with prayerful songs, followed by some lovely songs by Singer Hrishikesh Ranade who seemed like Superstar Sonu Nigam's chota bhai! (be it appearance or voice)
The wait to hear the Melody queen grew higher..I didn't want to wait longer now..close to the destination ; yet so far!
And lo! "YAARRRAAA....." from the dark, Shreya appeared slowly...the audience went uproar!! Wattey excitement in the atmosphere...just spellbound and speechless! She sang one her bestest song ever, "Sunn raha hai" with such brilliance that you gotto to agree that Shreya Ghoshal is one of the finest musician this world has!
After the first attack, Shreya continued to kill us with a string of romantic-melodious songs from her wide discography! The numbers like Waada Raha, Bahara, Samjhawan, Piya o re Piya....just flooded our ears with most beautiful tunes ever; we kept yelling "Once more" after every song!
Notable fact-Shreya knew all the lyrics at her tongue tip!
Saibo was one song for which the audience yelled for "Once more" twice!! Shreya, at the best of her wits, replied, "Once more nahi..one more!"
Her in between convos are really to-die-for; a perfect combination of innocence, modesty, wit and mischief! (Read-The way she says "Ghadi ka kaata tik tok...)
Deewani Mastani and Pinga from the blockbuster movie, Bajirao Mastani made their debut in Mumbai concert. Best part- Shreya tried the PINGA step, herself! I still wonder how she sang Pinga live aalaap at one go!!
And then it was time for a small interval now!
The second part started off with A.R.Rehman and old songs tribute section. Ranade joined Shreya in between and their duets were beyond what words can explain! The way Shreya says "Main Lata ji ki bahut badi fan hun!" Aahhh! How adorable! String of old numbers blew us away in a short time!
Now, Shreya had her home-made recipes for us. The likes of "Oh-la-la, Radha on the dance floor, Chikni Chameli" blasted the stage into pieces of musical bits!!
Her interactions with audience is mind-blowing! We happily clapped and whislted all through the concert ; even sang "Piyu bole" with the melody queen!
There were a few Marathi songs too(tailored since concert  in Mumbai) and impromptu Tujh mein rab dikhta hai and Raabta which she sang on huge audience demand!
It was 10pm now. The deadline for stopping the stage! However, it was requested that the time be extended by half an hour. There was big vote of thanks by the organisers ; after which two songs were  supposed to be sung by Shreya- Lag ja gale and Mere Dholna. However, as adorable as Shreya is; she squeezed in a small part of "Reshmaycha" for the audience!
Will u believe if I tell you that the entire audience gave an impromptu standing ovation when the last song "Mere Dholna" reached its highest altitude with Shreya singing the "Ni Sa Ni Sa...." live ; breathlessly!!
That was heaven indeed! Beyond words...intervention of Gods of music!
And sadly...the concert coming to an end was like a cardiac arrest! Everything over in a fraction of seconds! The very next moment is like, "I am missing u already, Shreya!!:("
She sang almost 40songs in one concert; superwoman for sure!
Really grateful to Shreya Ghoshal for being such an amazing artist and giving a getaway to galaxy of music!

Well...to get a "Real view" book your tickets for the next "Shreya Ghoshal live in concert" at your nearest city!!
Thank you!

Its neither surprising nor astonishing! When singers boast of recording two songs in two consecutive days; may be of same language or different languages; meet The Shreya Ghoshal who has just been awarded two IIFA awards in two consecutive days for two different languages!
Melody queen Shreya has won the awards for:- first one "Kaathirunnu", Malayalam movie "Ennu Ninte Moideen" and second one for "Upavasa" , Kannada movie "Mr.Mrs Ramachari"

Friends for life...

I had a thought.. That I have it all... I came across.. I soared too high.. I knew the key... I got the answer.. I was the one.. I was the winner... The party night.. I sat alone... The distanced table.. The oblivion me.. I had no laughter... I did not cheer.. All I had was.. The food and drink... I saw the others... All hand in hand... A comfort smile.. The shoulder to lean.. They shared their pain.. They multiplied joy.. "I lost", I pondered.. I had none to share.. I had no friends.. I had nothing... I leaned to and fro.. And hoped to find a hand.. "I found", I exclaimed.. The one I thought as foe.. Was here for me.. She held my hand.. She showed the path.. How much I missed this.. How much I yearned.. Now I have it all.. I have her smile... I have her love... That money and work.. Are part of life.. But , friends, my dear, Are life, for sure!!

Why I love "LOVE"

WHY I LOVE "LOVE"

Love finds its way to the heart..
Love knows nor words nor signs..
Love glows in every dark night..
Love shimmers in the sunny light..
Love melts the hardest icecube..
Love moves the mighty mountains..
Love needs no person...
Love wants no language..
Love blossoms in fragrance of rose petals..
Love matures in thorns of rose stem..
Love loves to love the lovers..
Love loves to love the kissers..
Love never expected from you..
Love yearned just for open arms..!
